PM Oli speaks for effective federalism

BANEPA, July 8: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the federalism should be made effective as per country needs.

In a two-day seminar jointly organized by the Ministry of General Administration and Nepal Administrative Staff College at Dhulikhel today, Prime Minister Oli said the federalism should be implemented on the basis of country's social and geographical specificities.

Stating that there was no point in adopting federalism if the people failed getting effective service and facility, he urged the bureaucrats to give up old and narrow mindsets.

The PM also stressed the need of making federal system more practical.

Similarly, General Administration Minister Rekha Sharma said that initiative was underway to take the government into the people's door steps through federalism. The works were underway keeping the restructuring of the administration in priority, she added.

Chief Secretary Dr Somlal Subedi said that it was necessary to make bureaucracy more responsible while Chairman of the Public Service Commission, Umesh Mainali, expressed the view that the bureaucracy was still slow off the mark.

Four working papers related to restructuring of administration were presented on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Oli took stock of the health condition of Mukesh Kayastha, who was critically injured in people's movement.

PM Oli has become positive to establish a care center from the Mukesh Kayastha Foundation and print postage stamps bearing Mukesh's image. RSS
