PM Koirala reaches Jakarta

JAKARTA, April 21: Prime Minister Sushil Koirala arrived here on Tuesday morning through Bangkok to attend the Afro-Asian Conference. PM Koirala had left for Jakarta, Indonesia, on Monday, leading a Nepalese delegation.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Mahedra Bahadur Pandey and Indonesian Minister for Research, Technology and Higher Education Muhammad Nasir welcomed the PM at Soekarno–Hatta International Airport.


Officiating Foreign Secretary Shankardas Bairagi, Non-Resident Ambassador of indonesia to Nepal Iwan Wiranataatmadja and Permanent Representative of Nepal to United Nations Durga Prasad Bhattarai among others were also present on the occasion.     

The 17-member Nepalese delegation will attend the conference in Jakarta and Bandung.

Foreign Minister Mahendra Bahadur Pandey and Officiating Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi had reached Jakarta earlier.

Other members of the Nepalese delegation include Prime Minister's Foreign Relations Advisor Dr. Dinesh Bhattarai, Permanent Representative of Nepal to the UN in New York H.E. Mr. Durga Prasad Bhattarai, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tara Prasad Pokharel and Chief of Protocol Arjun Kant Mainali.

PM Koirala will return to Nepal on April 28.
