PM Dahal urges newly-appointed NPC members to address low production and employment issue

KATHMANDU, March 27: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has instructed the National Planning Commission (NPC) to come up with new schemes to increase production and generate employment in the country.

KATHMANDU, March 27: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has instructed the National Planning Commission (NPC) to come up with new schemes to increase production and generate employment in the country.


In a meeting with newly-appointed members of the NPC at his office in Singha Durbar on Tuesday, PM Dahal said that low production and employment is a major problem of the country and instructed them to address this issue in a planned manner. "I am confident that the Commission will increase the effectiveness of its role as a think tank of the government," said PM Dahal.

On that occasion, he instructed the NPC office-bearers to focus on evidence-based policy making by strengthening the statistical system.


PM Dahal instructed NPC to proceed with the process of finalizing the 16th plan and help incorporate strategies and programs proposed in the plan in the next fiscal year’s budget.


NPC Vice Chair Dr Min Bahadur Shrestha and newly-appointed members of the Commission were present during the meeting.
