KATHMANDU, May 18: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Speaker of the House of Representatives Devraj Ghimire and Chairman of the CPN-UML KP Oli, have initiated discussions to end the parliament deadlock.
The main opposition party, Nepali Congress (NC), along with other opposition parties, has been obstructing the parliament, demanding the formation of a parliamentary probe committee over Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane’s alleged involvement in misappropriation of cooperative funds.

According to Speaker Ghimire’s secretariat, PM Dahal, UML Chairman Oli, and the Speaker are holding talks at the PM’s official residence in Baluwatar.
Earlier, NC leaders claimed that PM Dahal assured them to form the parliamentary committee soon.
According to PM Dahal’s Secretariat, the prime minister will call a meeting of other political parties after holding discussions with UML Chairman Oli and Speaker Ghimire.
