KATHMANDU, July 19: Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has appealed to all Nepali citizens to give their feedback on the draft constitution.

Issuing an appeal on Sunday, PM Koirala said feedback collection from the people is a modern and highly democratic practice."People's wish for democracy with federalism, republic and inclusion is scripted in the draft. Some of the provisions of the draft may not be consistent since it is a document of consensus between political parties in the Constituent Assembly," stated the appeal. "I appeal to all Nepali citizens either within the country or living abroad to give their suggestions on the draft constitution," the PM said.

PM Koirala said that drafting of the constitution with direct involvement of the people is a historical event. "This opportunity has not only given the people an opportunity to draft their own constitution, an agenda which Nepali Congress has been championing since 1950, but has also helped us institutionalize federalism, republic and inclusion," said Koirala.

He opined that the constitution based on pluralism would also pave a bright future for Nepalis at large. "Even if someone has disagreements, I hope him/her to suggest amendments," he said.

Constituent Assembly members have reached all the 75 districts to collect people's feedback on the draft. The CA has set Monday and Tuesday for collecting public feedback on the draft constitution.
