KATHMANDU, June 4: The Supreme Court on Monday allowed Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai and then Deputy Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula to have their representatives to appear in the court regarding the case of the contempt of court filed in the SC.

A case of the contempt of court was filed in the SC against them, reasoning that 13th constitution amendment bill was presented in the Legislature Parliament.[break]

A division bench of Justices duo Tahir Ali Ansari and Tarka Raj Bhatt gave the order to this regard.

Earlier, on 24 May, a single bench of Justice Kalyan Shrestha had issued an order in the name of Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai and DPM Sitaula to present themselves before the court within seven days for hearing over their attempt to extend the Constituent Assembly term.

Following the order, they furnished their replies in writing by appearing before the court on May 31.

The writ petition on contempt of court was filed by advocate Kamal Prasad Itani.
