POKHARA, May 21: The Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City (PLMC) is to remove all the structures not meeting the stipulated standard that are constructed alongside the highway from local Prithvi Chowk to Talchowk.
A meeting chaired by mayor and chairman of the Metropolitan Traffic Management Committee, Man Bahadur GC has decided to order the removal of temporary houses, sheds and garages built alongside the highway.
In this connection, PLMC is preparing to issue a public notice requiring that the illegal structures not meeting the standards be removed within seven days, said Surendra Poudel, the focal person of the Committee.
He said anyone not obeying the metropolis' order would be fined Rs 5,000.
Poudel said the metropolis would also remove the 17 electricity poles that are in the middle of the highway within a week's time.
