Players of Machhindra, Manang Marshyangdi face action

KATHMANDU, Jan 9: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has decided to take disciplinary action against players of Machhindra Football Club and Manang Marshyangdi Club after they resorted to fighting in the playground. 


As per the ANFA decision, Jagajit Shrestha and Ashok Baral of Marshyangdi Club have been barred from playing next five matches each and fined Rs 10,000 each, while Ranjan Bista has been prohibited from participating in two matches.

Likewise, Bijaya Dhimal, Dipak Rai and Debendra Tamang of Machhindra have been banned for two matches each. Kit manager at Manang Marshyangdi Club Shiva Lama has been slapped Rs 10,000 in fine. Similarly, both the teams have been fined Rs 50,000 each for failing to maintain discipline in the team bench.


Players of both the teams had resorted to fighting after a match under the Martyr's Memorial A-Division League at Dasharath Stadium concluded. They played a 2-2 draw at the match on Monday. 


The ANFA disciplinary Committee issued the suspension onThursday three days after the incident at the Dashrath Stadium.
