Plan to build eye hospital in Dhankuta

DHANKUTA, March 3: Ophthalmologist Ram Prasad Pokharel and Netra Jyoti Sangh, Dhankuta, have planned to build a 50-bed hospital in Dhankuta.



Peace and Reconstruction Ministry has already allocated Rs 5 million for the construction of Ram Prasad Pokharel eye Hospital while Dr Pokhrel has donated 10 ropanis of land worth around four million rupees.



The current Primary Eye Treatment Center inside Salleri Ban in Dhankuta municipality - 6 will be expanded into the hospital, according to vice-president of Netra Jyoti Sangh, Dhankuta Drona Guragain.



Guragain said the foundation stone will be laid on March 22 and the hospital will start providing services within a year.
