KATHMANDU, Feb 7: The sixth event of the Surya Nepal Golf Tour ‘Pilot Golfers NPGA Classic’ is all set to start from February 7 at the Royal Nepal Golf Club.
The first two rounds of the three-day tournament will be played at the Royal Nepal Golf Club, while the third round at the Gokarna Golf Course.
Captain Rabindra Purush Dhakal, Capt Deepak Thapaliya and Capt Vijay Pratap Singh are the main sponsors of the event, while Rara Instant Noodles, BB Airways and Sherpa Brewery are co-sponsors of the tournament.
This tournament was initiated by the Pilot Golfers in 2007 and took place for continuous three years till 2009.
A total of 31 professional golfers including number one Shiva Ram Shrestha, Sanjay Lama, and Bhuwan Nagarkoti will be in the fray, while other 13 amateur golfers Subash Ghising, Binod Tamang, Jiwan Rai and Pratima Sherpa are aiming to win the amateur trophy.
The winner of the tournament will take home Rs 55,000, while the runner-up will be rewarded with Rs 37,000. The third-placed will get Rs 25,000.
