KATHMANDU, Aug 22: Kathmandu features not only empty roads but also piles of garbage during this second phase of lockdown enforced since Wednesday midnight.
Heaps of garbage are seen along the major streets including in Jorpati, Bauddha, Pipal Bot, Gyaneshwar, and Kamaladi areas in the capital.
Waling Municipality: Making the best out of waste
The garbage on the streets has already started stinking due to rain and hot temperature.
While the local administration is enforcing a stricter prohibitory order to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus disease, the failure to manage the waste in time could cause the outbreak of various other diseases.
