KATHMANDU: Cadres close to the rival faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal held a march-past in Kathmandu on Tuesday, a day before the mass gathering scheduled for Wednesday.
After a brief orientation at the Exhibition Road based-Balmiki Campus, the group of supporters and cadres went along the Putalisadak- Bagbazar-Ratnapark road section and finally returned to Balmiki Campus again. Leaders including former minister Yogesh Bhattarai addressed the group of cadres.
The march resembled a similar march past held by the other faction of the party led by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, on Feb 4, a day before the latter’s showdown in the capital. The Oli-led NCP organized a mass gathering in Kathmandu the next day on Feb 5.
The Dahal-Nepal-led NCP has announced yet another round of protest for Wednesday “in an bid to present its strong differences against the unconstitutional dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR)” on December 20 last year.
