He will be sharing his personal projects along with discussions on the changing landscapes of photojournalism, its role and impact with a range of topics in visual storytelling. Each participant will get a chance to work on his/her own story.[break]
Sailendra Kharel is an independent photographer specializing in editorial and documentary and working on long-term projects.
He has worked as staff photojournalist for Kantipur National Daily. He is currently doing a Post Graduate Diploma in Photojournalism at ACFJ, Ateneo de Manila University, the Philippines.
His works have been widely published and exhibited in Nepal and internationally exhibited in prestigious festivals of photography like Chobi-Mela, Dhaka 2009 and 2011, Angkor Photo Festival, Cambodia 2008 and 2011, Delhi Photo Festival, India, 2011.

Kharel has received several local awards for his work. The workshop is open to any professional photographer. Age is not restricted.
Applicants are required to have knowledge of digital cameras and of editing programs.
“The workshop intends to encourage independent photographers. Our main focus will be to educate the participants on visual language and visual literacy,” informed Kharel.

Participants must have their own Digital SLR camera.
The deadline for submission is November 25. Number of seats available is 12. The fee for the workshop is Rs 8,000 per participant.
