Photo exhibition on Buddha kicks off

KATHMANDU, May 27: With a view to spreading the message of Lord Buddha in the present context of the country and imparting information about historical, natural and biodiversity aspects of Buddha’s birthplace Lumbini, a big event of photo exhibition entitled ‘Lumbini in Pursuit of Peace’ kicked off here from Wednesday.



In the photo exhibition organized at Kot Hakha tole of Patan Durbar Square to mark the 2554th birth anniversary of Buddha, photos of sacred places of Siddhartha Gautam Buddha-the path shower of human happiness, peace and welfare-and of other various archeologically important places in and around Lumbini have been kept. Likewise, images of various monasteries-some of them have been constructed and some are under construction in the master plan area of Lumbini-are also presented in the exhibition lasted today, according to organizer.



The photos depicting religious activities and environmental situation of the Lumbini sub-forest area have been exhibited in the event.



The event has been organized to help visitors understand various aspects of Gautam Buddha and contribute to develop creative human resource, informed Dhammasakachhya Association Chairperson Chandra Bahadur Shakya.
