1876- First Phone invented


Inventor Alexander Graham Bell invented telephone with the help of an engineer named Thomas Watson. The historic phone call of March 10, 1876 took place between Bell and Watson when they were in different rooms in their Boston lab.  Bell spoke on the telephone and asked Watson to come over.


1973- First wireless phone

Dr. Martin Cooper made the first cell phone call through Motorola DynaTAC, a phone weighing 1.1 kg on 3rd April 1973. The call was made from New York to the Bell Labs Headquarters in New Jersey.

The portable hand-held Motorola DynaTAC didn't need to be powered through a car.


1996- Introduction of flip phone


Motorola phone StarTAC was the first flip phone to be introduced to the world on January 3, 1996.  It was known as clamshell phone and its earpiece flipped onto the keypad.  The StarTAC sported the features of text messaging, vibrate alert setting and the use of lithium-ion battery as a back-up.


2007- First Apple iPhone released


Apple released its first iPhone on June 29, 2007.  The phone comprised the feature of touch screen and revolutionized the tech industry by giving people the easy access to everything through a single button.
