KATHMANDU, Oct 25: Petroleum tanker operators have threatened to stop delivery of petroleum products across the country if Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) failed to fulfill their 11-point demand, including permanent permission to deliver petroleum products from Barauni to Raxaul, by October 31.

Submitting a memorandum to NOC Monday, the Federation of Nepal Petrol Tanker Operators has demanded the state-owned petroleum monopolist to permit them deliver 800 KL of petroleum products from Barauni to Amlekhagunj every day. [break]

They have also asked NOC to bear the excise duty in the case there is a problem in delivering petroleum products due to any untoward incident in Indian side.

According to the federation, they will stop loading and unloading of petroleum products on October 28 and 29 and delivery across the country on October 30 and 31.

Digamber Jha, managing director of NOC, said the agitation of tanker operators was aimed at taking advantage of fluid political situation in the country.
