The Supreme Court last week declared Jha´s oath taken in Hindi as unconstitutional.
Petitioners Nava Raj Neupane and Bishnu Prasad Bastola of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-15 filed the petition. The duo have sought co-warrant order from the court to remove Jha from office.
"VP Jha must resign his post if he does not take fresh oath following the court verdict," states the petition, adding, "He has no constitutional ground to continue in the post since he has already defied the court verdict."
VP Jha has refused to take oath in Nepali. President Ram Baran Yadav, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and the Constituent Assembly (CA) have been made defendants in the petition.
Koirala, Jha meet
Jha on Tuesday met Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala at the latter´s residence Maharajgunj and asked to settle the oath-taking issue from political level. "The ball is not in my court. The political parties and the CA should resolve the issue," Jha told Koirala.
