Talking to media persons at a regular weekly meeting at the party head office at Perisdanda, he also claimed that they will eventually participate in the elections although they are now out in the streets against the agreement of the major political parties on the formation process of the current government. "There is no meaning to the street protests. The environment is ready for elections. Parties thinking of boycotting elections will be boycotted by the people," said Sapkota arguing that they will suffer various losses if they move against the equation of international forces.
His was indicating the Mohan Baidya-led CPN-Maoist, which has been leading 34 smaller parties against the current government, terming it anti-national and unconstitutional. They are out in the streets demanding a government of political parties.
Arguing that holding elections in the third week of June is a must, Sapkota claimed that complications will be invited if elections cannot be not be held by that date.
"Interference and other activities by internal and external elements against elections will grow if we fail to hold the poll by the third week of June," added Sapkota, informing that the political parties and the chairman of the election government have already discussed holding the elections at any cost.
He further clamed that the foundation has been laid for June elections.
According to him, one of the main foundations for elections is that foreign forces have expressed their wish to help. He likewise claimed that intellectuals are positive towards election.
Criticizing the parties that are against the agreement of the major parties, he said they do not have people´s support.
"The parties that got a majority vote from the people are not out in the streets," said Sapkota, adding that those that are out in streets are just trying to express their dissatisfaction because they did not get a chance to participate in the meetings of the major parties.
