People demand seized property back

SANKHUWASABHA, May 4: Nine individuals in Sankhuwasabha district have called for protection of their human rights by having their homes that have been seized and occupied by cadres of the Unified CPN (Maoist) vacated and returned to them.[break]



The victims said UCPN (Maoist) seized their houses in Chainpur-2 in the district in the second week of November 2009.



The victims, Chandika Shrestha, Dr. Mahesh Kumar Shrestha, Ramgopal Shrestha, Krishna Gopal Shrestha, Jaya Gopal Shrestha, Shanta Gopal Shrestha, Bal Gopal Shrestha, Ravi Shrestha and Samaj Kumar Shrestha, have objected to the seizure of their homes where they say the UCPN (Maoist) has kept its offices.



They have filed complaints at the District Administration Office calling for vacating their houses and returning their property to them. But they complained the district administration office has not taken any action on their complaint.
