KATHMANDU: A critically-ill patient admitted to the COVID-19 isolation ward of the Chitwan-based Bharatpur Hospital died on Monday morning.
According to Pramod Paudel, clinical coordinator at the hospital, the 48-year-old patient from Nawalparasi-5 was critically-ill when he was admitted to the hospital.

“He was having breathing difficulties. The patient was also feeling pain in the chest. He was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia. As the patient was diagnosed with pneumonia and was from Nawalparasi, where the number of COVID-19 infection is high, we had admitted him to the COVID-19 ward of the hospital,” said a doctor, adding that the swab sample of the patient has been collected for COVID-19 test.
The reports will come by this afternoon, according to the hospital.
“The patient had come to Bharatpur Hospital from Butwal Hospital. The swab samples of the deceased were collected at Butwal Hospital too,” the doctor told Republica Online.
