Under-Secretary General for Political Affairs B. Lynn Pascoe will visit Nepal for second time this year for consultations with the government and political parties.[break]
“The [Security] Council has asked the Secretary General to report on the implementation of the Four Point Agreement by October 15, following high-level consultations with the government of Nepal and the political parties,” UNMIN chief Karin Landgren said during a briefing on Wednesday.
During his last visit in March, Pascoe created a stir saying that the criticism of the UNMIN was unfair and ‘absurd’ and that political parties criticized the UN mission to cover up their failures.
A cabinet meeting objected his remarks asking him to mind his remarks and adhere to diplomatic norms.
