KATHMANDU, JULY 17: The Parliamentary Inquiry Special Committee formed to investigate former Finance Minister Janardan Sharma has said that it has questioned the engineer related to CCTV of the Ministry of Finance.
In the meeting of the committee held at Singha Durbar on Sunday, it was said that preparations are being made to interrogate high-level and other officials of the Ministry of Finance. The secretary of the committee, Surendra Aryal, said that on Sunday, he also inquired with the head of the administration division of the Ministry of Finance, the IT engineer who oversees works related to CCTV and the head of the budget division. He said that today there is a program to discuss with the Revenue Secretary and the Finance Secretary of the Ministry of Finance. The committee on Saturday said that it is studying with special emphasis the activities of CCTV from the main gate. Secretary Aryal said today that the committee is ready to move forward after discussing and questioning with the Ministry of Finance and all the necessary authorities.

An 11-member parliamentary special investigation committee was formed when the then Finance Minister Sharma was accused of manipulating tax rates by calling the Ministry of Finance at night among unauthorized persons while preparing the 2079/80 budget. Former Finance Minister Sharma resigned as Finance Minister after the parliamentary inquiry committee was formed.
