Madhesh govt forms inquiry committee for last year’s payment

JANAKPURDHAM, Feb 17: The Madhesh provincial government has formed a high-level inquiry parliamentary committee for the payment of last year’s finance. After Provincial Finance Minister Sanjay Kumar Yadav proposed the formation of an inquiry committee in the provincial assembly meeting on Thursday, the assembly passed the proposal unanimously.

JANAKPURDHAM, Feb 17: The Madhesh provincial government has formed a high-level inquiry parliamentary committee for the payment of last year’s finance. After Provincial Finance Minister Sanjay Kumar Yadav proposed the formation of an inquiry committee in the provincial assembly meeting on Thursday, the assembly passed the proposal unanimously.


Even after the completion of various schemes run by the provincial government, the government has not paid the consumer committees concerned. After the provincial assembly members repeatedly raised questions in the assembly, on Thursday, the provincial government formed an inquiry committee to make the preparations for the payment.

An 18-member high-level parliamentary inquiry committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Deputy Speaker Babita Kumari Raut Ishar to pay the consumer committees. The members of the provincial assembly in the committee are Kanish Patel, Ratneshwar Goit Yadav, Shyam Prasad Patel, Sunil Kumar Yadav, Bacha Raut Ahir, Rajkumar Gupta, Sameer, Harinarayan Mahato, Chandan Kumar Singh, Shambhukumar Sah, Jayalun Rai, Ranikumari Tiwari, Urmiladevi Singh, Kanchan Viccha, Bimala Ansari, Anirudh Kumar Singh and Pramod Kumar Jaiswal.


In the last fiscal year, it is understood that for the projects implemented by the consumer committees, the provincial government has yet to pay more than Rs 1 billion to various consumer committees.


The date of commencement of work by the constituted committee has exceeded 30 days. Provincial Finance Minister Yadav informed Republica that the committee will prepare its own procedures under the direction of the speaker.


According to him, the committee will carry out on-site inspection and evaluation of pending payment schemes, request documents from relevant agencies, take statements from government officials, assign technicians to work, keep technicians under contract and form a sub-committee if necessary.


Earlier, when there was a problem with the payment, a parliamentary inquiry committee was formed and the payment was made.
