KATHMANDU, July 8: The parliamentary special committee formed to investigate the misappropriation of cooperative funds has called on Maha Prasad Adhikari, the Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank.


The committee held discussions with the Governor, including other officials, on the problems related to cooperatives on Monday. To identify the problems and their solutions, the committee has been holding several meetings with officials and other stakeholders.

Earlier, the committee held discussions with Eak Naryan Aryal, the home secretary; Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, the Inspector General of Nepal Police; and Shyam Gyawali, an Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG).


The committee had also asked suggestions from the parties in the House of Representatives (HoR) to identify the problems of cooperatives and their solutions.


Likewise, the committee had also summoned the directors of 29 problematic cooperatives.
