KATHMANDU, Aug 23: The parliamentary special inquiry committee formed to investigate the misappropriation of cooperative funds will take statements from Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairman and former Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane today.

The committee has summoned him for a statement at 2 PM. Lamichhane has been called to give a statement in his capacity as the former Managing Director of Gorkha Media Network Company, according to the committee.


The committee has summoned Lamichhane for questioning regarding the funds deposited by the public in cooperative institutions like Suryadarshan and Sanopaila, which were transferred to Gorkha Media Network. The committee is in the final stage of taking statements from the accused. It plans to complete recording statements soon and prepare the final report.
