Speaking in an interaction organized at the District Development Committee (DDC) hall, chairman of the committee Chandra Bahadur Gurung said the parliamentary committee’s team will submit a report on the status of natural resources in the district to the Parliament after carrying out an on-site inspection of quarrying of stones and pebbles and the process of their sale and distribution there.
Gurung said the unauthorized quarrying and sale of pebbles and stones could not be stopped in the absence of specific laws.
He said the problem is also due to the lack of coordination between the Ministry of Industry, the Local Development Ministry and the Ministry of Forests.
