Paras regains consciousness, ability to recognize people

KATHMANDU, March 2: The health condition of former crown prince Paras Shah, who is undergoing treatment at the Samitvej Sukhumvit Hospital in Bangkok after suffering a major heart attack 12 days ago, improved significantly on Saturday as the hospital said he regained his consciousness and ability to recognize people.



“He (Paras Shah) has become conscious and can recognize the people. Active and coordinated movement is noted in all his limbs,” reads a press statement issued by the hospital today. The statement further said that the medical condition of former crown prince is continuously improving. He is, however, still under on the ventilator support. [break]



Earlier on Friday, Shah had opened his eyes momentarily the first time after collapsing at the apartment of Bangkok-based Nepali businessman Sunil Khadka late on February 19.His parents former king Gyanendra  Shah and queen Komal arrived in Bangkok last Wednesday to meet their ailing son.
