KATHMANDU, Sept 26: Former crown Prince Paras has objected to the government´s “obstruction” to the free movement of his father, former King Gynendra.

“But as good citizens we should follow what the government says,” said Paras after meeting former prime minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai at Norvic Hospital, Kathmandu. [break]

The government had recently cancelled a religious function at Basantapur to be attended by Gynendra, saying the government was not in a condition to provide him security.

“Ask the government whether it should prevent someone from attending a religious function. In my view, it should not prevent citizens from doing so,” said Paras.

Former Prime Minister Bhattarai, who has been admitted to Norvik Hospital, has been publicly speaking in favor of constitutional monarchy.
