KATHMANDU, Nov 24: The Professional Alliance for Peace and Democracy (PAPAD) has announced its participation in the ‘Baluwatar justice march’, demanding the resignation of Chief Justice Cholendra SJB Rana.
An agitation is taking place under the leadership of Nepal Bar Association demanding CJ Rana’s resignation. Expressing solidarity with the movement, PAPAD has also called for breaking the impasse by immediately initiating the process of impeachment against CJ Rana.

"We are announcing a joint Baluwatar justice march on November 25 to press for immediate impeachment proceedings and to prepare for the transformation of the judiciary with constitutional amendments to break the current impasse," reads a statement issued on Tuesday.
PAPAD has made it clear that the joint struggle is against CJ Rana. The political parties have been called upon to issue public commitment for the transformation of the judiciary and to start preparations accordingly to maintain judicial cleanliness in the courts at all levels, modify the judicial appointment system and standards so as to prohibit the sale and purchase of justice.
