KATHMANDU, Oct 19: Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal Syed Haider Shah on Wednesday paid a farewell call on Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun.
Ambassador Haider Shah thanked Vice President Pun for his audience and expressed his gratitude for his continued support to the Embassy of Pakistan through out his tenure. He also recalled Vice President Pun’s attendance in Pakistan National and Independence Days Receptions during 2022 as Chief Guest.
During the meeting, matters related to mutual interests between the two countries were discussed. Vice President Pun appreciated Pakistan’s generous support to Nepali students for their education in the field of medical and technical education in Pakistan. He also appreciated Ambassador Shah’s active role and initiative in the provision of medical assistance to Nepal during COVID-19 pandemic.
Ambassador Shah also thanked Vice President Pun for the relief items sent by the Government of Nepal to Pakistan for flood affected people and expressed extreme gratitude for the timely assistance.
Vice President Pun expressed his best wishes for the outgoing Ambassador as well as his family and Pakistan Embassy’s endeavours in the future. He also presented Ambassador Shah with the traditional Nepali Ceremonial Scarf (Khada) and Dhaka Cap on the occasion.
