KATHMANDU, Feb 6: The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu organized a discussion program on “Kashmir Solidarity Day on Monday. The event was attended by journalists, writers, and analysts as well as human rights activists.
Messages issued by the Pakistani President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day were read out at the outset of the program. In his message, President Dr. Arif Alvi paid tribute to the Kashmiris for their resilience in their just struggles for the right to self-determination in the last 76 years.

Similarly, Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people's struggle for the realization of their right to self-determination.
Likewise, Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani renewed Pakistan’s unflinching support for the Kashmiri people’s struggle for the realization of their right to self-determination. Mr. Jilani reiterated that the human rights situation in Kashmir remains a source of grave concern to Pakistan and the rest of the world.
Ambassador Abrar H Hashmi emphasized the role and response of the international community because of numerous UNSC resolutions promising to the people of Jammu and Kashmir about their right to self-determination. He argued that any court decision and legislation taking place inside India does not affect the established status of Kashmir as a disputed territory.
The discussion touched on the need for dialogue, taking up issues at the UN and other international fora. The participants maintained that the international community must continue their role in highlighting the plight of subjugated people in Kashmir.
