KATHMANDU, Oct 30: The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu organized a talk program on "Consequences of Illegal Occupation" to observe what Pakistan refers to as Kashmir Black Day. Distinguished analysts, scholars, and renowned journalists took part in the event held on Monday.
On October 27, 1947, India deployed troops to Srinagar and occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a historical event that Pakistan and the Kashmiri people observe as "Kashmir Black Day."
During the program, messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister of Pakistan were conveyed to the audience gathered at the Embassy of Pakistan in Nepal.

In his message, President Arif Alvi paid homage to the resilience of the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for the right to self-determination. President Alvi emphasized the issue of Indian state terrorism in Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IOJK), human rights violations, illegal and unilateral actions to deprive the Kashmiri people of their economic, political, and land rights, and the alteration of the demography of IOJK.
Similarly, Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq in his message reiterated Pakistan's unwavering support for the Kashmiri people and their legitimate and inalienable right to self-determination, as per the United Nations Charter and relevant UN Security Council Resolutions. Prime Minister Haq also called for the immediate lifting of the military siege and communications blockade and the rescission of India's illegal and unilateral actions in IOJK, which contravene numerous UNSC resolutions.
In his message, Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani highlighted that the Jammu & Kashmir dispute has been a testament to hope in the face of adversity, courage in the face of fear, and sacrifice against tyranny. He paid tribute to all the martyrs for their ultimate sacrifice and to their families for their determination and perseverance.
The Charge d'Affaires (a.i.) Umair Ali recounted the origins of the long-standing dispute and the numerous UNSC resolutions that pledged support not only from the United Nations but from the international community to the people of Jammu and Kashmir regarding their right to self-determination.
Speaking at the event, participants expressed concerns about the media and information blockade, the use of pellet guns, the arrest of Kashmiri leadership, and other inhumane actions taken by the Indian government.
