KATHMANDU, Jan 6: More than 10,000 case files destroyed in a fire at the Supreme Court (SC) have been recovered.
Out of a total of 24,000 case files at the SC, around 20,000 were damaged in a fire during the Gen Z protest on September 9. Only about 4,000 case files were saved from the blaze.

According to SC Spokesperson Nirajan Pandey, as of January 5, case files related to 10,340 of the burned cases have been reconstructed with assistance from service seekers, concerned institutions, and the Office of the Attorney General.
The SC had requested the Office of the Attorney General, the Nepal Bar Association, and the concerned parties to provide copies of documents related to the destroyed cases. Accordingly, the process of collecting and reconstructing the remaining files is ongoing.
