“I will not make any unconstitutional move,” Laxmi Rawal, an NBA central committee member, quoted the state head as saying during the meeting. The NBA officer bearers had also held a meeting at their office before visiting the state head.
In an hour-long meeting, the NBA office bearers reiterated that the formation of a government under the leadership of chief justice would undermine free and fair judiciary and the established doctrine of separation of powers.
"We still stick to our earlier stance (against the chief justice leading a government)," NBA Chairman Hari Krishna Karki had said before heading to the president’s office for meeting.
