KATHMANDU, Jan 13: Vice-Chairman of Unified CPN (Maoist) Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has said that his party, being the largest party, will not accept a majority government under the leadership of other parties.

Talking to reporters before leaving for Mumbai at Tribhuvan International Airport, he said, ´The Maoist party will accept leadership of other parties if a consensus government is formed. But we will not accept leadership of other parties in a majority government.´

He reiterated that he is not in competition to become the new Prime Minister. "I have never viewed myself as the competitor of the new Prime Minister." "The political deadlock is continuing for one year as 10 leaders are trying to sit on one chair of Prime Minister.´

Dr. Bhattarai is taking part in an interaction ´The Road to New Democracy in Nepalese: Problem and Challenge´ organized by Anuradha Gandhi Memorial Lecture as the main speaker.

Various leftist intellectuals are taking part in the program to be held in memory of Indian leftist leader Anuradha Gandhi.
