BIRATNAGAR, April 22: The opposition parties are preparing to file a no-confidence motion against the Chief Minister Sherdan Rai of Province 1 once again.

All the opposition parties in Province 1 are planning to file a no-confidence motion against CM Rai once again, according to the chief whip of NC, Kedar Karki. “A no-confidence motion could be filed any time soon,” he added.

Similarly, Indra Bahadur Angbo, Parliamentary party member of CPN (Maoist Center) also maintained that the opposition parties are involved in discussion and preparation of filing the no-confidence motion. They have agreed to form a new government under the leadership of NC.

Earlier on December 27, lawmakers of erstwhile Nepal Communist Party (NCP) had filed a no-confidence motion against CM Rai. CM Rai had survived after the Supreme Court revived erstwhile CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist center).

Of 93 provincial assembly members, 51 belong to the CPN-UML, 21 belong to the NC and 15 others belong to the CPN (Maoist center). Likewise, JSP and Federal Democratic Forum (Sanghiya Loktantrik Manch) have 3 and 1 lawmakers, respectively.

Oppositions require 46 votes for the majority.
