During the week, a media roundtable discussion, a data literacy boot camp and a hackathon were held. Speaking at the launching program on Thursday, Taranath Dahal, the chairman of Freedom Forum, said: “Open Nepal was launched to ensure every citizen has access to data and information in an understandable form and format. This would promote good governance and transparency, leading to transformation of the society.” Dr Chiranjivi Nepal, advisor at the Ministry of Finance, said that openness is the only tool that would increase the wealth of nations. “Openness can uplift countries, the people and the poor,” he said.
