KATHMANDU, April 4: Rainfall, thunderstorm, and snowfall are likely to occur in the next three days across the country due to the impact of convective cloud, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division stated that the influence of weak low-pressure belt that developed in the east since last night and the moisture-laden wind that came from the Bay of Bengal as well as the local wind will cause cloudy conditions and light to moderate rainfall.

Convection clouds form when the air floats upwards after being warmer than the surrounding air. This is common during the pre-monsoon time, according to Barun Poudel, a meteorologist at the division. “The convection clouds will bring more thunderstorm and rainfall.”

A thundershower is likely to occur in the hills of the eastern and western region and snowfall in the mountains, the DHM said.
