KATHMANDU, March 24: Light rain coupled with thundershower is predicted in some hilly areas following a partly and general weather in the high hilly and mountainous areas, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.
This weather condition has followed the impact of the westerly low pressure system. As a result, a few hilly areas of Province 1, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces are likely to witness light rain coupled with a thundershower. In view of this and increasing hot temperature with the onset of summer, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has urged people to be alert.
Light thundershower predicted in some parts of country today
Pre-monsoon (March, April and May) is marked by continuous impact on the weather in the afternoon and evening in hilly regions. Pre-monsoon is characterized by sunny days and brief thunderstorms during afternoons and evenings, according to the Division.
The Kathmandu Valley (Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts) today recorded a minimum 15.5 degrees Celsius temperature and maximum 29.8 degrees Celsius.
Similarly, Jumla recorded the lowest minimum 4.5 degrees and Janakpur the highest maximum 35.4 degrees.
