KATHMANDU, May 16: The weather will remain partly to generally cloudy across the country including in Kathmandu valley with chances of brief thundershower due to the western low-pressure system, the Meteorological Forecasting Division has stated.
Meteorologist at the Division, Raju Pradhananga said the eastern region of the country is seeing cloudy condition and rainfall accompanied by gusty wind due to the influence of the low pressure trough that has developed in the region and the confluence of the moisture-laden wind coming from the Bay of Bengal and the local wind.

He said the sky would be cloudy again as the Westerly will re-enter the country on Saturday. This kind of weather activity would continue repeating as it is the pre-monsoon period, he added.
The eastern, central and western parts of the country would have partly cloudy sky in the night with the likelihood of brief rain along with thunder in some places of the hilly region. Weather forecast for Friday is partly to generally cloudy in the hilly region with the possibility of light to moderate rainfall along with wind in one or two places towards the afternoon.
Likewise, on Saturday the hilly region of the country will have partly cloudy condition with the possibility of brief thundershower in some places of the western hilly region and one or two places of the eastern hilly region.
The latest weather data provided by the Division shows that the minimum temperature in Kathmandu today was 15.5 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature will be around 28.5 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature of 40.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in Nepalgunj. RSS
