KATHMANDU, Jan 17: A person has been arrested for making public the photo of the girl who was raped by cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane and was identified as Gaushala 26. The Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police arrested 32-year-old Kesharman Rai of Chichila Rural Municipality-3 of Sankhuwasabha on Wednesday.

Rai was arrested from Sankhuwasabha and brought to Kathmandu and presented before the Kathmandu District Court and an investigation is being started with a seven-day deadline, said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Navinda Aryal.

"We have arrested him on the basis of the complaint that he had published the personal details of the victim," SSP Aryal said, “An investigation is also being conducted into the matter. We will take action if there is a basis for confirmation.'' Gaushala 26 went to the bureau and filed a complaint a few days ago.

SSP Aryal said, “An investigation is also going on, not just for the alleged individual but also to determine if others have disclosed the personal details of the victim.”
