KATHMANDU, Jan 20: Police have arrested one more person who was absconding after assaulting Senior Advocate Dinesh Tripathi outside the Kathmandu District Court last Wednesday.
During the search for the absconding persons involved in the assault of Senior Advocate Dinesh Tripathi outside the South Gate of Kathmandu District Court on January 15 at approximately 3:45 pm, District Police Range (DPR), Kathmandu, arrested Sita Devi Rai alias Shital Rai, 55, of Buddha Shanti Rural Municipality-4, Jhapa.

According to the DPR, the Singha Durbar Police Circle has initiated investigation into the issue.
With the arrest of Rai on Monday, a total of three individuals have been arrested for assaulting Senior Advocate Tripathi. Chief of the Singha Durbar Police Circle, Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) Ganga Prasad Paudel informed Republica that the individuals have been arrested on the basis of CCTV footage of the incident and that police investigation has not determined the political affiliation of the assailants.
“It is normal for people to have political inclinations but we have not been able to ascertain the involvement of the three arrested in any political parties,” he said.
