KATHMANDU, Sept 9: A male patient died of COVID-19 in Kathmandu Valley on Tuesday evening.
According to the District Health Office, Lalitpur, the 67-year-old male from Kathmandu died of COVID-19 while undergoing treatment at Alka Hospital in Lalitpur. He breathed his last at about 5 pm.
With this new case of death reported on Wednesday, the total number of people dying of COVID-19 in three districts in Kathmandu Valley has reached 58.
Local administration has enforced a prohibitory order in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur since three weeks ago as the cases of COVID-19 continue to see a sharp rise. As many as 396 more cases of the novel coronavirus disease were confirmed in the Kathmandu Valley on Tuesday alone.
According to the COVID-19 data compiled by the Ministry of Health and Population, the total number of people diagnosed with this viral infection has reached 8,580 in three districts in Kathmandu Valley.
