One killed in fire incident in Itahari

SUNSARI, March 3: A woman has been killed in an incident of fire in Itahari. 

The deceased has been identified as Gopimaya Katwal, 52, of Itahari-6. Katwal died in the fire that broke out in the house of Bishnu Khadka of Itahari-6 last night, DSP Naveen Krishna Bhandari said.

Katwal was living in a rented room of the house with her son and daughter-in-law. Preliminary investigation by police has shown that Katwal may have resorted to self-immolation, as the room was locked from inside. Further investigation into the incident is underway, District Police Office, Sunsari, said.

Family sources said that Katwal had been on medication for depression.
