PARSA, April 6: A Nepali national died after he was trapped in a jeep bearing the Indian number plate he was traveling in overturned at Mahuwan along the Birgunj-Thori road section this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Tharu Mukhiya Bin, 47, of Paterwa-7, Parsa.
He along with other members of his family was coming to Birgunj from his village when the accident involving a Tata Sumo with the number plate (BRBR 1P 8554) met with an accident, killing him on the spot, according to the District Police Office, Parsa Spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent of Police Chakra Raj Joshi.
Others two including his 15-year-old daughter Kajal Kumari have been injured in the accident. They are undergoing treatment in Birgunj-based Narayani Sub Regional Hospital. They are out of life-threatening condition.
The section stretching through the Gandak Canal has pits in multiple locations and such rough road infrastructure and a rapid speed are the probable reasons for the accident, police said. The driver is on the run after the accident and police are searching for him.
The body has been brought to the Sub Regional Hospital for a post-mortem examination. RSS
