KATHMANDU, Feb 16: Four people were killed while 18 others sustained serious injuries in a jeep accident that occurred at Selfie Danda in Kamalamai Municipality-2 on Friday afternoon. 

The deceased have been identified as Nawaraj Thapa, Laxmi Devkota, Yubaraj Lungeli and Resham Karki, informed DSP Binod Sharma of District Police Office, Sindhuli.

The accident took place at 4 pm today as the ill-fated jeep, Ba 11 Cha 2275, which was heading to Golanjar from Sindhulimadhi, skidded off and fell some 700 meters down the road. 

Driver’s drowsiness is the cause behind the accident, according to police.

The injured are receiving treatment at Sindhuli District Hospital. As many as 22 passengers were traveling in the ill-fated jeep.
