Since August last year, he’s been carrying his passion for poems to different parts of the world. Chaudhary is embarking on yet another poetic journey to the US on August 18.[break]
Could you please share more about the journey?
I have travelled to the US, UK, Dubai, Sikkim and many other places as part of the poetic journey and they’ve been an amazing experience. I’ll be going to Baltimore on August 18 and Dallas on August 24, and will release my e-books and also my fifth music album ‘Love forever’. The events will also incorporate my poetry recitation. During my past journeys, many local artists gave live performances on my songs and I guess it’ll be the same for the upcoming events too. By 2014, I want to reach at least 20 different places.
What’s the main objective behind this journey?
I aim at reaching the Nepali diaspora through this. Many Nepalis are dispersed all around the world and the journey, I believe, will make them feel close to the culture that’s their own. This way, I’ll get to exchange ideas and views with many fellow Nepalis. It’s not convenient for my friends living abroad to get my books in hard copies, so releasing e-books is the best option.
What are the challenges you’ve come across during the journey?
There isn’t any challenge as such, but I’m still in a learning phase and I somehow feel nervous while reciting in front of senior poets. However, at the end of the day, I enjoy it because it’s just an effort to promote Nepali literature and not a competition. I guess the main challenge lies in bringing people together as there’s got to be something for all and different people have different tastes.
What kind of feedbacks have you been receiving?
I’ve been received really well everywhere I’ve been so far. I’ve also got invitations from many places already and I’m planning to travel to those places as soon as possible. Since love poems are quite rare in Nepali literature, that is what I love writing the most. And people appreciate that.
