Oli stakes claim for Prime Minister, again

KATHMANDU, May 21: Prime Minister KP Oli has also staked his claim for the post of prime minister.

KATHMANDU, May 21: Prime Minister KP Oli has also staked his claim for the post of prime minister. 


According to his chief political advisor Bishnu Rimal, Prime Minister Oli has submitted the signatures of 121 lawmakers of the CPN-UML and 32 lawmakers of Janata Samajbadi Party(JSP) to President Bidya Devi Bhandari. Prime Minister Oli has maintained that the support of the lawmakers of JSP would be enough for him to have the requisite majority votes in parliament.

The list of lawmakers has signatures of UML Parliamentary Party leader Oli and JSP Parliamentary Party leader Rajendra Mahato.


Earlier, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba claimed to have garnered the support of 149 lawmakers. Deuba along with the leaders of opposition parties had reached the President's Office to stake claim for the post of prime minister.
