Speaking in an interaction program held at the Padmakanya College on Sunday, leader Koirala said that UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had lobbied for Oli-led government after his visit to China in March.Recalling souring relations between Oli and Dahal before the April-25 earthquake in the country, Koirala claimed that relationhip between the two opponent leaders improved only after UML leaders' visit to China followed by Dahal's visit.
"I was surprised when Dahal ask for my help to form the new government in Oli's leadership, at a time when UML's Madhav Nepal had to mediate meeting between Oli and Dahal," said Koirala.
Maoist Chief had visited China in for a week in the invitation of Communist Party of China during the last week of March. Koirala argued that formation of the new government with the support of most of the communist parties substantiated his claims.
Koirala said that he had also insisted for not sharing government with CPN-UML, as making government with the two largest parties in parliament would weaken the democratic values.
He accused CPN-UML of not cooperating with NC in the erstwhile government. In his speech, Koirala maintained that aggressive speech of ministers and leaders will not help to lift the blockade by India to Nepal. NC leader said that if India wants agreement on water resources and irrigation, Nepal should deal the issue with business and other technical interest.
