Parliamentary Party (PP) leader Ghanshyam Chaudhary stated that the decision was based on a directive from the party's central leadership. Despite the withdrawal, the Shah-led government still retains a majority in the 53-member provincial assembly.

Chief Minister Shah’s secretariat said Minister Chaudhary was removed for disregarding repeated calls to ensure fiscal transparency and good governance.

The provincial assembly currently comprises 18 members from Nepali Congress, 11 from CPN-UML, with others including the main opposition CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN (Unified Socialist), Rastriya Prajatantra Party, and an independent member.
